DAY 5 - Launceston to Hobart

This was how early we got up to start the journey to Hobart.

Stopped over for some breakfast.
Wanning had cheesestick and mandarin cheesecake. I had tasmanian scallops in garlic and cream pie. Eleanor had black pepper beef pie.

Tessellated pavement (inter-tidal rock platform) next. Quite impressive how neat the cuts look. Like looking at the Adelaide city map. Heh

Tasman arch, Devil's kitchen and the blowhole. Tasman arch looks better than the Devil's kitchen to me. I feel like my blog has morphed into a geography blog. Heh Anyway, all three structures are similar. Tasman arch and blowhole are cousins. Devil's kitchen is uncle to the Tasman arch.

We continued down to Port Arthur to take a look at where convicts were held last time. Comparing to the those convicts held at Sarah Island, the convicts here have slightly more humane treatment. They can recieve hundreds of lashes for their sentence. These people are not murderers but are guilty of smaller things like stealing goats and food. While recieving their lashes, if the person loses consciousness, they will be brought to a room where their wounds will be soaked in salt water to wake them up! This cycle will continue till the full strokes are given.
The remaining intact buildings and ruins at Port Arthur.

After a long day of walking, we decided to pamper ourselves with dinner at Barilla Bay.

The oysters are amazing. I've never ever eaten such fresh oysters ever. Period.

Eleanor's main course of Atlantic salmon.

Wan Ning and I ordered the same main course. The mussels are fantastic too! This coming from a non-mussel fan. Usually the mussels I eat are either rubbery or stiff. These ones are soft, with a slight chewy feel and tasty. Heh

Wan Ning and I decided to have another round of oysters.

Then I decided to try this too! Hahaha
